What makes ConsERV™ better than other ERV products?

The ConsERV™ core has much higher energy recovery effectiveness than other fixed plate heat exchangers and, unlike rotary enthalpy wheels, has no moving parts. The result is higher performance, more energy savings, lower maintenance, better moisture and mold control, less leakage and cross contamination, and better overall Indoor Air Quality.

What are the minimum and maximum sizes available?

Currently, ConsERV™ cores for nominal air flow rates ranging from 10 CFM to 1300 CFM are available. ConsERV™ energy recovery ventilation systems for outside air requirements from 50 CFM to 4800 CFM are available, and higher airflows can be accommodated using stacked systems or multiple units.

Does ConsERV™ work as well in cold weather conditions as in hot?

ConsERV™ products reduce energy consumption associated with fresh air ventilation and have good paybacks in almost any climate. The superior moisture transfer of the ConsERV™ core reduces the temperature at which frost formation occurs compared to other fixed plate exchangers. Defrost cycles may be necessary at very cold temperatures.

Has ConsERV™ been tested by any independent testing source?

Yes. In addition to field installations monitored by several utility companies, independent developmental testing verifying performance of the ConsERV™ core has been conducted by Intertek Testing Services in accordance with ARI 1060 test conditions; the U.S. DOE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory; and at UL (complies with UL94 HB and 5V flame spread, and UL723 for flame spread and smoke index).

How do I buy one?

Look at our distribution page (link to distribution page) to see if we have a sales representative in your area. Or tell us your specifications: outside design conditions (summer/winter) indoor space conditions (exhaust air data) and fresh air and exhaust requirements (CFM). Call us at 727-375-8484 x230 for help in specifying a unit.

What kind of paybacks can I expect with ConsERV™?

In new construction, paybacks are usually less than 3 years and can be immediate, since you can downsize your air conditioner and heating system. In the retrofits, paybacks often range from 2 to 5 years depending on the complexity of the installation.

Does ConsERV™ qualify for utility rebates?

Utility incentive programs based on demand reductions and energy savings should recognize our product for rebates. A number of utilities are in the process of adding ConsERV™ to their rebate list and rebates of $250/kW or higher have been approved.

How does ConsERV™ perform under part load conditions?

The effectiveness of our product remains high throughout all load conditions. ConsERV™ requires no regeneration by hot air, so latent energy transfer between air streams will continue even when outdoor air temperatures are mild.

How does ConsERV™ perform in a smoking environment?

Very well. ConsERV™ units have been used in smoking rooms and remain impermeable to smoke particulates while retaining energy transfer capabilities.
